Welcome to the website of News Know-how, a project of the American Library Association with these partners: The News Literacy Project (Bethesda, MD) and The University of Illinois Graduate School Of Library and Information Science. Funding is provided by the Open Society Foundations.
We are pleased to launch our website that will provide resources to the public on improving their media literacy understanding and skills. Please check often! We will post the ongoing activities and issues the project encounters along the way. Your suggestions and comments will be of great value as we “grow” this project in the years to come.
Our first trainings begin the week of July 9 at the Chicago Public Library and the Oak Park (IL) Public Library. For more information, please see the training outlines in project site folders.
In the coming months, we will post the participants’ projects on the site as well as other resources.
We would appreciate any feedback or ideas you have to improve the site. Thanks so much in advance.
