Grinnell, IA Project 1

Sarah & Christopher researched the corrections policies of the local newspaper and radio station, the Des Moines Register, the Chicago Tribune, the New York Times and NPR. They determined that the New York Times and NPR were exemplary organizations with respect to correction policies while the Chicago Tribune was not.

Both Grinnell teams participated in a public presentation on November 4, 2012 at the Drake Community Library, the public library in Grinnell, Iowa. A small, but enthusiastic, audience of various community members was in attendance. The students presented their findings for the first 25 minutes and a very good 35-minute discussion was generated by questions from the audience. The students gained a great deal from this experience and truly appreciated the opportunity.
